The goal of linguistics is the systematic study of the world's languages using qualitative and quantitative methods.  In these courses you will learn the basics of linguistics.  This will in turn help in evaluating language materials and in the language planning process.

This course focuses on the development of linguistic theory with specific emphasis on syntax.  Generative syntax is discussed in detail.

In this course we learn about linguistic structure and how it can be applied to real language issues and problems.

This course investigates the structures of the languages of the world.  Particular attention is given to morphosyntactic data and analysis.
